In accordance of Diocesan and Alameda Health Department recommendations, the parish has decided to postpone the St. Patrick's Day Dinner. Please support the parish event that is scheduled for a later date.

Youth Mass on March 29 will connect to our young people! All are welcome!

Last Sunday, 4th grade and 6th grade students performed at the Lillian Black Festival of the Arts under the direction of Mr. Vaughan. We are so proud of our students who participated in the performing arts as well as our visual artists whose work was displayed in the Bishop O'Dowd gym. Thank you to Mrs. Sweeney and Mr. Angel for showcasing our artists!

Save the dates for Vacation Bible School located at Assumption Parish August 3 - 7 from 9 - 12 p.m.

8th grade hosted Assumption Parish's 8:15 Ash Wednesday liturgy with song and prayer with a strong assist from 3rd grade. Fr. John Mark Ettensohn, who finished our Parish Mission Wednesday, shared a meaningful liturgy. We are called during this Lenten season to prayer, almsgiving, and fasting as a way to bring us closer to our faith and to God.

TK and Kindergarten spread the Mardi Gras cheer on Tuesday morning, traveling through the classrooms with music, masks, and boas. It placed smiles on all the faces of our community.

Our school has officially started Kids Heart Challenge with the American Heart Association. Assumption School participates in the American Heart Association's Kids Heart Challenge every year raising money for a cause that affects so many people in our country. This fundraiser also gets students moving and is spearheaded by our PE teacher, Mr. D. See below for how your child can get involved, stay heart healthy, and support a good cause.

Have you met the Heart Heroes yet? Each Heart Hero has a special message to keep our students’ hearts happy and healthy! And, students can earn members of the Heart Heroes when they raise life-saving donations to help those with special hearts. Just sign up online at Assumption School KHC or by downloading the FREE Kids Heart Challenge app in the App Store (search Kids Heart Challenge), available for iPhone and Android.

Our stellar 8th grade girls' volleyball season came to an end after last Saturday's Oakland Diocese playoff loss against Our Lady of Guadalupe (Fremont). It came down to a hard-fought third set where our team fell just a bit short.

Our Metro League Champions made us proud by their play and character. Their much-deserved success was a result of lots of hard work and sacrifice. Our girls showed up to practice on birthdays, during times when they were not feeling well, during holiday breaks, and while balancing other commitments. The players and coaches had lots of fun and the unique qualities that each person brought to the team made the hard work and sacrifice a little easier. The Metro League championship game was memorable. Assumption was well represented and our spirit was strong. A BIG thanks to the Assumption Community for all the support. Let's Go Trojans!
