Our Mission
We are Assumption Catholic School, a ministry of the Church of the Assumption. As a diverse community, we excel in academics and model Christ where each individual is safe, nurtured, respected, and treasured.
Together we pray
Welcome, welcome, welcome.
I welcome everything that comes to me today, because I know it's for my healing.
I welcome all thoughts, feelings, emotions, persons, situations, and conditions.
I let go of my desire for power and control.
I let go of my desire for affection, esteem, approval, and pleasure.
I let go of my desire for survival and security
I let go of my desire to change any situation, condition, person or myself.
I open to the love and presence of God and God's action within.
Amen.
— Fr. Thomas Keating, The Cross Ministry Group
Special Intentions for the Wulff family including Hayden and Hannah, graduates of Assumption School who lost their mother, Audrey Wulff to cancer in early August. Mrs. Wulff was a dear Alumni parent, supporter of Assumption School, friend to many in our community, and aunt to Ms. Scherer, Vice Principal at Assumption School. We pray for those who love her and miss her.
Together we can
Act Without Words
You may have noticed that students sometimes tune out adult lectures.
Kind and firm actions usually speak louder than words.
Example: Let students know you will begin the lesson when they are ready. Then sit quietly until they are ready (assuming you have taken time for training).
Put on your gym shoes and circulate. Proximity is an action that often speaks louder than words. Perfect "the look" that kindly and firmly communicates, "Nice try.”
Kindly place your hand on a student's shoulder, or use a silent signal.
