4th Grade did a wonderful job hosting our Wednesday school liturgy in song and reading. Students acted out the first reading telling the important story of the important apostle Paul.

Rachel H. was presented a $100 gift certificate for her first place win of the San Leandro Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Oratorical Fest and Poetry Slam on January 16. Liz Hodgins, Assumption alum and City of San Leandro Recreation Supervisor, presented the gift certificate at morning assembly Tuesday.

Ms. Ana Mahiri, Development Director of Building Futures, attended Wednesday's morning assembly to accept a donation of $4,500 to support the Move In Kits for Building Futures. Building Futures supports women and children who experience homelessness and help them get into permanent housing.

Second Grade students recited their poems with the support of their parents and teachers during Poetry Day, their second grade Poetry Slam. All classes have done poetry recitations in preparation for our 9th Annual Oratorical Fest.
