National Read Across America Week at Assumption School

National Read Across America Week, celebrated from March 3–7, 2025, is a nationwide movement to inspire a love of reading among children. Established by the National Education Association in 1998, this event originally focused on Dr. Seuss’s birthday (March 2) but has since expanded to highlight diverse books and literacy for all students. Schools and libraries across the country participate in themed activities, including read-aloud sessions, book fairs, and storytelling events

At Assumption School, we joined the celebration with a special visit from our very own Sue Mart, former Learning Support Coordinator. On Tuesday, she delighted our TK through 2nd graders with readings of The Cat in the Hat books, bringing the joy of storytelling to life. Thank you, Sue, for sharing your love of reading with our young learners!
