Today, we begin the holy season of Lent with our Ash Wednesday service. This solemn day marks a time of reflection, repentance, and preparation for Easter. During the service, attendees receive ashes on their foreheads in the shape of a cross—a reminder of our human mortality and the call to turn our hearts toward God.
Ash Wednesday is observed by Catholics and many other Christian traditions as a time to embrace prayer, fasting, and acts of kindness. While it is not a Holy Day of Obligation, it is an important spiritual moment for our community.
We are grateful for our 5th grade choir and our 8th grade lectors who brought the parish community into the Lenten season. Let us begin Lent together with faith and reflection!
