A Message from Assumption School on Our Commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI)
Assumption School believes in and affirms the commitment to fostering a community that embraces justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. We can best serve our students when we embrace the unique diversity of every individual and create an environment where all students, staff, and families feel safe, nurtured, respected, and treasured.
Our JEDI Workgroup is dedicated to bringing this vision to life, by implementing our Board-approved roadmap, ensuring we continue to advance a culture of care where everyone is accountable for promoting inclusion and every student has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.
The Workgroup is focusing on the following:
- Curriculum: empowering teachers to confidently integrate diversity and inclusivity, ensuring students feel represented and engaged in their learning
- Disciplinary Practices: working towards creating a consistent, inclusive approach to student behavior that fosters accountability, transparency, and a supportive school culture
We invite you to join us in this important work. The JEDI Workgroup plays a key role in helping us achieve these goals, and we’re looking for community members who are passionate about contributing to a stronger, more inclusive school culture.
