Pack 556 Receives an Award

This week the BSA Golden Gate Area Council, presented Assumption Parish's Cub Scout Pack 556, with the Conservation Good Turn Award. With help from their families, Pack 556 completed 166 hours of community service at Oyster Bay Regional Park this school year. The scouts focused on mirco-litter cleaning up of the trail and picnic areas. When reflecting on the experience, Bear Scout, Andy Fargo said, "Please don't use confetti outside. It's a mess and doesn't go away!"

Since 1910, conservation has been an integral part of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) program. Scouts have rendered distinguished public service by helping to conserve wildlife, energy, forests, soil and water. Scouts understand that they must all must work together for the betterment of natural resources.
