ACOE & ACPHD To Host Upcoming "Doc Talks"
To Provide Vaccine Information For 5-11 Year-Olds

With the authorization of COVID-19 vaccine for the 5-11 age group, we want to share some important resources that will provide parents information about how to access vaccine for their children as well as address information about the vaccine itself.

The Alameda County Office of Education and the Alameda County Department of Public Health will co-host a series of “Doc Talks” in which Bay Area clinicians present vaccine information and answer questions from parents in a webinar format.

The first of our “Doc Talks” will take place on Monday, November 8 at 6 p.m. at this Zoom link.

The conversation can also be view live at www.acoe.org/doctalk and on ACOE’s Facebook Page.

Dr. Kelley Meade from UCSF Children’s Hospital in Oakland will be Monday’s guest clinician.

We will be sharing plans for future Doc Talks, including a Spanish-language session in the coming days.

Please reach out to your health care provider or pediatrician to make appointments for your children. School-based clinics are in the works in many of our districts and should be opening soon. In addition, appointments for children are being accepted now at MyTurn.ca.gov, as well as retail pharmacies such as CVS and Walgreens.

Those eligible educators are also encouraged to get their booster vaccines through these same avenues.

In addition, for more information, please go to acoe.org/vaccines.
