Assumption School celebrates first Mass

We are grateful to Fr. John for working to welcome our students safely back into the church in a way that brings students a more intimate liturgy experience in-person and a new experience for our students who participated virtually in the classroom in grades 1 through 8.

We had third and sixth grade attend the 8:15 a.m. Mass in person and fully masked during their time in the church. They sat physically distant from each other and in different areas of the church. Our daily Mass parishioners, a small number during the weekdays, also made sure to respect the students' distancing. It is in this partnership that we can keep our students safe.

We are so proud of our 6th and 3rd graders for their respectful in-person participation and for our other classes who patiently navigated the online experience. At this time, only two classes will be attending in person for the weekly liturgies and will be rotating so each class in grades 1 - 8 can experience the liturgy and prayer time.

This is for many, their first liturgy experience in 18 months. We are practicing how to respectfully participate during the liturgy as we begin to slowly return to our beautiful and liturgical tradition.
