Established 36 years ago by a group of Assumption Parishioners, and boosted by grants from the Valley Foundation, the Assumption Foundation has invested, preserved and grown these endowment funds, which in turn has enabled the Foundation to make regular gifts to the school. Since 1984 the Foundation has gifted over $1 million to the school for purposes such as library and building renovations, teacher accreditation, math and science programs, classroom technology and more recently, a sizeable contribution to the cost of the new parking lot.
The school’s needs are frequently changing, although never more so than the current challenges posed by the pandemic. Ensuring the best possible learning experience for both our in-person and remote learners has become one of our main priorities, together with the ongoing need to provide the depth of curriculum which has continued to attract families to the school, even in these difficult times. The Foundation has stepped up to assist the school with the funding of these objectives, making an $86,000 gift to pay for a technology bridge and the provision of science, art, Spanish and motor skills to the lower grades. Having access to this resource, to support all our families and provide the very best learning experience, without the additional cost being reflected in tuition increases, is truly a unique benefit.
