Each year Mr. Pereira has come to Assumption School to share his knowledge and love California Native American culture. For the students, it is always a highlight of their 4th Grade year and this year was no different. Mr. Pereira and his family adapted to our current learning environment and the students were mesmerized. They learned so much! Here are a couple of 4th Grade reflections on their experience. Thank you Mr. Pereira (and family).
I liked Mr. Pereira's presentation, he had a good voice and was easy to listen to. I learned they used deer skin and bones to make instruments. I really liked seeing the instruments during his presentation. I would like to thank Mr. Pereira for taking the time to show us their traditions. - Cian
Mr. Pereira's presentation was interesting. He spent his time and effort to share information about his tribes and the Chumash. I would like to than Mr. Pereira for helping us learn more about California Native Americans. It was a privilege to have Mr. Pereira at our Zoom meeting today. - Sarah
